The New Zealand Film Academy was founded in 2000 to offer aspiring film makers the opportunity to hone their story telling craft and to get a start in the industry. Our focus is on practical experience and the significance of story telling. Keep it simple. Move the audience, try and create an emotional attachment with the viewer.
We believe that the focus should be on two crucial areas; education through experience and the importance of the narrative. We provide tutors who are specialists and active in the industry, not academics out of touch with what is happening on location. This is the philosophy behind our teaching, a tactic producing encouraging results in graduate placement within the industry.
