Auckland NZ
The New Zealand Film Academy is based in the centre of Auckland city, and is handy to parks, theatres, cafes, accommodation, and all the different types of cuisine you could possibly imagine. There are activities to suit any preference or budget, from pumping inner city clubs, pubs and eateries, to peaceful bush walks, beaches, and islands just a short drive or boat ride away. Auckland also holds the largest share of NZ’s film and television industry, and we are handy to many of the local suppliers, studios, and support businesses. A wide variety of possible filming locations are within a short drive, from desert-like dunes, to rainforest, farmland, islands, beaches, cityscapes, volcanoes, and the list goes on. For more about Auckland, and to get an idea of things you could be doing on weekends during the course, check out the official Auckland website
Visa information
An international student taking our courses will require a study visa. We provide successful applicants with an official Offer of Place document, and for students who have paid their fees in full, we provide a Confirmation of Place document, as well as an official receipt. These documents are usually required when applying for a student visa. Once paid, your fees are held in a third party trust account with Public Trust Ltd, so that it can be safely refunded to you should your visa application be unsuccessful. For the most up-to-date and accurate information on the visa requirements and application process, please go to the New Zealand Immigration website.
Accommodation Options
There are a number of accommodation options for you to think about, some of which are below:

the best place to search for flat-mate wanted notices is www.trademe.co.nz. If you choose flatting, then it is better to perhaps arrive earlier, and stay at a hotel or backpackers hostel for a few weeks while looking for a room to rent. Rooms in flats are generally between $150 – $220 per week, excluding bills, which are about $30pp per week.
Student Hostel or shared apartments.
There are many options nearby NZFA, the best idea is to use a search engine to find a suitable option. Some are shared apartments, and others are specifically hostels for students. Prices vary according to quality and room size.
