The course duration is geared to give students enough 'hands on time' to hone their practical and creative skills, the structure provides the right environment for students to really explore and create highly entertaining, imaginative productions.
With the additional training modules on Small Business Economics and Producing Fundamentals gives a more rounded learning experience.
Students having completed this course, will have written, filmed and directed a music clip, two short film narratives and a short film drama of up to 20 minutes. Students will work as a small production crews in order to ensure that each individual and group gets the attention they need to produce a quality film for their show reel.

This is a course which gives Academy graduates the confidence to make an informed decision on a career path in the film and television industry.

Course Notes & Entry Criteria

1. Acceptance for all students is subject to a successful interview and at management's discretion;
2. Availability of positions is limited. Payment of deposit is required to secure an offer of place on the course;
3. All fees to be paid in full or arrangements made for payment prior to the start date of selected course;
4. All applicants (native English speakers excluded) require at least intermediate level English. Students must meet the required Edenz internal ESC Test level (5.0) OR provide a current TOEFL (475) or IELTS (5.0) test result;
5. Student Loans are available for domestic students. They should be processed at least one month before the course starts. Please confirm the course dates and fees with NZFA when applying;
6. The official New Zealand Film Academy Application Form must be completed and returned signed.
